We're building the world's first open atlas of street-level ad media.

OOH Earth is in public beta — community-funded, open-source, and run by a lean core team plus a global volunteer network. We're looking for members, engineers and organisers who want to make public-space advertising visible, accountable and subvertible.

// Who thrives here

Who thrives here

We've stopped reading CVs too closely. Some of the best members we know had never mapped a thing before their first walk; some of the most decorated never shipped at all. The five things below are what really tells us who'll do their best work here — and, honestly, who we'll enjoy the ride with.

01

You'd rather do than debate

You'd rather map the billboard than argue about it. The people who flourish here move first — file the report, run the action, ship the fix, then talk about it.

02

You work like an open book

Our data, code and methods are public and forkable. You're at ease in the open — sharing the credit, leaving the receipts, building things anyone can inspect and borrow.

03

You'd rather be right than loud

The atlas lives or dies on accuracy. You cite your sources, check before you claim, and never let a good story outrun the facts.

04

You're in it for the right reasons

Community-funded, no ad money. The reward isn't a windfall — it's public space reclaimed and a movement that outgrows you.

05

You look out for everyone

We centre the Global South, the overlooked, the advertised-at. You bring real care for people into the work — not just polish for the product.

// Lines we hold

What we stand for

Same standard for a paid contractor and a first-week volunteer. These don't bend.

See everything

We map what brands pay to hide in plain sight. Visibility is the point.

Community-funded

No ad money. The treasury and the work answer to members.

Field-ready

Every tool must work on a phone, in the street, offline, at night, under pressure.

Open by default

Open-source data, open methods. What we build, anyone can fork and field.

// Volunteers

Volunteering shouldn't cost you

Most of the network is volunteer-run — but we back our people. Honest support, and no false promises of a salary.

Field costs, not out of pocket

Where the community treasury allows, we reimburse reasonable field costs — transport, printing, access tools — so volunteering never costs you money to do.

Micro-grants for local action

Small grants for members and ambassadors running local campaigns, subvertising actions or city meet-ups. Apply through your coordinator.

Real credentials & references

Member credentials, a public record of your contributions, and honest references for jobs, grants or study.

Skills, not just labour

Hands-on mentoring in mapping, investigation, organising and open-source tools — you leave sharper than you arrived.

How we hire

Short, transparent, no hoops.

01

Apply

Send a short note — who you are, what you'd build, and a link or two.

02

Talk

A 30-minute call with the core team. No take-homes, no whiteboards.

03

Field test

A paid micro-task or a trial shift on a real piece of the atlas.

04

Onboard

Credentials, comms, and your first field project.

Don't see your role?

You don't need our permission to start. Map an ad near you today — or pitch the role you think we're missing. And if you can't give time, funding the movement is its own kind of joining.
